About

Ryan Stumpe is a Writer, Director, Director of Photography, and Producer for Motion Pictures, Television, Advertising, Documentaries and Stage.

He partnered to co-found Natural Behavior Media Company, exploring conservation, wildlife, and the human condition globally. He finds wildly fascinating stories and empowers smart and resourceful crews, near and far.

Ryan is also the Writer and co-Director of Park Village Playhouse, a site specific backyard theater creative leadership workshop fostering ideation, problem solving, and absurdly emotive storytelling in young minds.

For a decade he was the Creative Director and Principal Producer of AVERingenuity LLC, a design and specialty production company established in Bozeman Montana were he created a progressively tight knit visual story culture and produced Sweat Life NYC, Justice High, Raising the Ghost, The Pizza Show, and Garage Sale.

A product of the eighties and a child of divorce featuring parental visits and relocations across the Rocky Mountains, the muggy South and the Pacific Northwest, Ryan's work ethic runs deep and pairs with a measured sense of humor and curiosity to connect dots with everyone he meets. He turns intricate ideas into efficient and visually stunning stories on screen. His talents for story behind the lens and in physical mediums have generated a handful of awards, nominations, and rejection letters, which sit in a box in his Mother's attic.

Ryan’s community portrait photography may be seen and booked through Shutter+Spoke.

Ryan’s production tools and equipment are maintained and available through Carolina Camera Company.

Ryan is internationally traveled and holds a current passport. He is available by request for Freelance and Contract based projects. He resides on the east coast of the United States with his wife Madalyn, daughter Fiona, son Felix and two rescue dogs, Maple and Snow.
